Here are just some of the questions we are often asked by people like yourself.

Q1 - What do I have to do to comply with current health and                          safety legal requirements?

First, you are required to produce and publish a policy statement, and your organisation and arrangements for dealing with health and safety in your company.

Q2 - There must surely be more?

There is. Companies are being called upon to take a more pro-active role in maintaining the health and safety of their people at work. For example, virtually all current legislation requires you to carry out a suitable and sufficient RISK ASSESSMENT of work activities and to develop controls to eliminate or reduce any risks to a minimum.

Q3 -I run a business, how on earth can I do all the things                             required by law?

You personally cannot. You are required to instruct, inform and train your staff in health and safety. Do that, and much of the necessary work will be done by them as a matter of course.

Q4 - That’s all very well - but I still have a business to run!

True, but you must look at safety legislation as being part and parcel of your business, the same as your accounts or production. You cannot avoid it - you are responsible.

Q5 - How then can I meet my obligations and continue to give my                                             business the attention it needs?

That's often where we come in. Initially we carry out a short audit to see where you are' in terms of safety management. We then draw up an action plan covering key areas requiring attention that will be both time and cost effective. Finally we work along side you to ensure that the action plan is implemented

Q6 - Once I produce my policies and assessments is that it?

Unfortunately not, good health and safety is a continual process in which all documents and systems should be reviewed at least annually or if there are significant changes to the business. Again we can help by carrying out the review and making inspection visits to ensure standards are maintained
